Intimate Vows at Es Vedra
I performed at an unforgettable wedding yesterday.
There were no guests, no catering, no seating plan, no welcome drinks, no DJ, no best man or bridesmaids, no cake, no speeches.
Stripped down to a man and woman, madly in love and fully committed, flown in from New York to take their vows in front of a minimal audience (a videographer, photographer Natasha Marshall, master of ceremonies Shaun, wedding planner Marcella Koronna from Ma Cherie Weddings and myself with my guitar) and, most breathtakingly, in front of Es Vedra; Ibiza's most magical and mystical rock, standing proudly out of the sea, allegedly one of the most magnetic places on Earth.
It really was very moving though and their heartfelt vows almost had a lump in my throat!
They had requested me to learn 2 beautiful songs for the ceremony including Sara Bareilles' "I Choose You" and Andy Grammar's "Fresh Eyes" and I then played more from my repertoire for about an hour afterwards.
It all put me in a very romantic mood for watching the Eivissa Annual Fireworks display from the port later.
